Welcome Aboard !

CANISTEO's name is derived from an Indian River, a tributary of the Susquehanna in lower New York State. She was commissioned on December 3, 1945.

Built by Bethlehem Shipbuilding Yard in Baltimore, CANISTEO is 553 feet in length and 75 feet wide at the beam. Fully loaded, she displaces over 25,000 tons and has a draft of 32 feet (1966 data).
